Whirlwind Basket by Barbara Lewis Grains and Meals traditionsThis handwoven Tohono O'odham round basket is by Barbara Lewis and measures approximately 7 inches in diameter and 1. 5 inches deep. Plant materials are hand gathered from the Sonoran Desert for basket weaving. The interior green coils (warp) are native Beargrass and the white stitches (weft) woven around the coils are sun bleached Soaptree Yucca. The black material is Devil's Claw pod. Keep away from sunlight to maintain color variations.
