This is a combination reed case for 9 Oboe reeds and 3 Cor Anglais reeds held in place with springs

This special blend of metals ensures that the wire is not too malleable or brittle to allow the reed to vibrate correctly

Consistency is key when it comes to reed making which is why there is a measuring scale etched into the metal which allows you to measure the bassoon reeds blade length either from the reeds collar or the first wire depending on which reed making methodology you use
